Graduation Commencement Ceremony and
Rehearsal Information
  
As your student work at UTMB draws to a close,
it is time to begin thinking about graduation details! Your SHP graduation
ceremony will be a very pleasant and memorable occasion.

Invitations and Academic Regalia
Invitations and announcements
to commencement ceremonies can be ordered through the Bookstore
(772-3440),which also makes arrangements for academic regalia
for students and faculty.
* Please note:
Effective August 14, 2008, the School of Allied Health Sciences was
renamed the School of Health Professions
Deadline: September 30th.
For students, the cost of the gown will be billed to your school;
however, if you place your order after the September 30th deadline you will have to pay
a$15.00 late fee.
If are interested in
placing an order for Graduation Announcements or a Diploma Frame, please
stop by the bookstore. If you will not be on campus your orders can
either be faxed to the bookstore to (409)-772-3440 Attention: Sandra Low
or it can be mailed in to the following address listed below with your
check for payment or Credit Card information (Visa, Master Card or
Discover only, please be sure to include CC #, Exp. Date, 3-digit
security code on back of card and a contact phone number). Please
also be sure to include shipping plus tax in your total.

Prior to commencement during rehearsal,
students will be asked to complete a number of important forms that are
processed for your graduation.
Here are some additional
important details:
- Parking:
- For on-campus ceremonies,
Garage 4, located on 12th and Mechanic, will have free
parking. There will additional free parking in the lots west of
Levin Hall.
- For Moody Gardens ceremonies,
parking is available in the Moody Gardens Convention Center Parking
Garage and surrounding lots as directed.
- Regalia: Order your caps and gowns
from the UTMB bookstore at least two months prior to graduation. You
may order in person or by calling (409) 772-3440. Your cap and gown can be
picked up during the week leading up to graduation. Note: Be VERY VERY careful if
you decide to iron your gown as they will melt if the iron is too hot!
- Rehearsal:
Rehearsal is very important to your commencement exercises day, please
make sure you arrive on time.
- Photography: UTMB photography will
be taking pictures during the rehearsal and ceremony. All commencement
photos can be viewed a few days after commencement at
www.partypics.com. The passcode
for that site for the @009 Summer Commencement is shp0809.
- ID: During the ceremony you will
receive an orange tube that you will exchange for your diploma at the end of
the ceremony. After the ceremony, you must show a picture ID that clearly
identifies who you are, in order to receive your diploma. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Address and Email: Be
sure Enrollment Services has your correct address and a permanent email
address (so you can receive a UTMB alumni email address to pass
through).
- Special Accommodations: If you have
an accommodation request, please notify our office with the appropriate
information and specific request. If you have any additional questions
