Race Information

Race To Benefit:

UTMB Health and the School of Health Professions in partnership with fitTRIrun is hosting the "SHP Causeway FunD Run/Walk." This event benefits SHP student scholarships and represents a powerful investment in the future of health care for our region and state. We invite you to participate in this event to help provide scholarships for the many talented students in the School of Health Professions.

Race and Award Categories:

7:45 AM   Kids 1K Run Age Categories: 5 & under, 6-8, and 9-12
8:05 AM   5K Wheelchair Race
8:15 AM   5K Run

Age Categories:
13 & Under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 & over
5K Walk Immediately following

The race will be chip timed.

Registration and Entry Fees - Before Race Day: (no refunds)

$25  All other races

All participants who register by February 7th will receive a race tech shirt.

Course:

Certification:

The Causeway FunD 5K Run has been certified by USA Track and Field, Certificate #TX13026ETM. Click on certification number to view certificate.

Parking:

Parking will be available in the Home Depot/Target parking lot, corner of 61st Street and Broadway, with continuous shuttles between the lot and the event site, the Galveston County Daily News Building. Parking WILL NOT be available at the Galveston County Daily News. Be advised parking may be limited and therefore carpooling is highly suggested!

Race Day : Saturday, March 2nd 6:45 AM until 7:30 AM, near the Start/Finish (more details will be provided on course map).

Water Stations:

Safety considerations prohibit the placement of water stations on the Causeway. Participants who want water while crossing the causeway should carry water with them. Water stations will be at the Galveston Daily News (before the Causeway), but there will be no water stations on the bridge.
