SHP Open House
"Your Future in Healthcare Begins Here"
Visiting the campus is often times
the best way for prospective students to get a complete picture of a university
and its programs. We invite you and your family to visit our campus during one
of our upcoming Open House dates. Open Houses are generally scheduled monthly at
UTMB School of Health Professions in Room 1.102.
This event is sponsored by the School of Health
Professions Office of Academic and Student Affairs.
During Open House, our faculty,
staff, and student ambassadors representing our departments will be available to
answer all of your questions about the different programs and services available
at the School of Health Professions. Open House will begin with a welcome and
student connections presentation which also includes a brief 7 to 10 minute
overview of each of the programs offered at the School of Health Professions
(Physical Therapy, Physician’s Assistant, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory
Care, and Clinical Laboratory Sciences) in addition to a 1.5 hour break out
session exploring in detail the particular program of your interest.
During the Open House, you will be able to learn about UTMB, the School of
Health Professions, as well as academic programs in which you are
interested. We will discuss specific issues related to each of
you as prospective students:
• Prerequisite advisement
• Financial aid
• Application for admission process
• Interview Dates
• Degree Tracks
• Allied Health Professions as they relate to health care delivery and
career development
We would like to invite you to attend, we offer several open houses throughout
the year. Please see our calendar of dates below. Please continue to check this
