Scholarships are awarded based on
need, merit, or a combination of the two. Scholarships do not need to be repaid,
but may have specific criteria for you to remain eligible (i.e. grade point
average, major, etc.).
Some awards are merit-based, others are need-based, and some are available only
to students who've chosen a particular area of study or who meet particular
biographical criteria.
The university awards a multitude of
scholarships to students each year (this past year, the School of Health
Professions alone gave out just over 200 scholarships totaling $189,000).
Scholarships may also be obtained
from outside entities such as corporations, foundations, and/or organizations.
