Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences (BSMLS)Designed to prepare individuals, using the latest in biomedical instruments, to analyze samples of blood, tissue and body fluids and generate accurate, reliable test results to be used in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
Master of Science (MS) in Medical Laboratory SciencesDesigned to prepare individuals in a career in research, teaching or management within clinical laboratory medicine. Three tracks are available, one for certified BSMLS individuals and two tracks for those without a BSMLS degree.
Cooperative Degree Program Bachelor of Science (BS) to Master of Science (MS) in Medical Laboratory SciencesDesigned for individuals to complete their Bachelor's degree from their participating 4-year university* (Texas A&M at Galveston, St. Edward's University, University of Houston-Clear Lake and University of North Texas) while working towards a Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from UTMB.
Master of Science (MS) in Pathologists' AssistantDesigned to provide graduates who will perform services such as postmortem gross examinations, gross exam surgical specimens, prepare tissue for microscopic examination under the direction of a pathologist.
Master of Science (MS) in Transfusion MedicineDesigned to prepare SBB certified graduates for a career in consultation, administration and supervision or research in the field of immunohematology and transfusion therapy.
Doctorate of Clinical Laboratory Sciences (DCLS) in Clinical Laboratory Sciences Designed for practicing medical laboratory scientists to further their clinical expertise and function as practitioners, leaders, educators, and scholars in patient care, laboratory utilization, and the diagnostic process.
Post-Baccalaureate Categorical Certificate ProgramsDesigned for individuals who hold a baccalaureate degree or higher to enter the field of CLS in one or more of our categorical certification programs including Chemistry, Hematology, Hematology and Chemistry, Immunohematology, and Microbiology.
Post-Graduate Categorical Certificate Program Specialist in Blood BankingDesigned to prepare individuals to become certified and to supervise routine and specialized tests in blood centers, hospital-based transfusion services and reference labs.
