Biography

Leonce H. Thierry, MS, MT(ASCP) CHES is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences in the School of Health Professions (SHP) at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB).

Mr. Thierry received his Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and a Master of Science in Health Promotion and Gerontology from the University of Texas Medical Branch. He is also a certified Health Education Specialist.

His scholarly activities focus on the academic study of recruitment of students to the field of Clinical Laboratory Science and mechanisms of coagulation testing as biomarkers to thrombotic events. His service activities to UTMB include the SHP Scholarship Committee (Past Chair), CLS Faculty Recruiter and Admissions Committee, and UTMB Saturday Science Academy. Mr. Thierry currently served as a Board Member at-large to the Texas Association for Clinical Laboratory Science from 2006-2009.
