Post-Professional DPT

UTMB offers an online post-professional (transitional) DPT curriculum plan consisting of 26 hours for students who have earned a Master's degree and 30 hours for students who have earned a Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy. In addition to a general degree plan, a post-professional degree plan with a pediatric focus is currently available through the STAIRS program.

Eleven hours of core courses for the online post-professional (transitional) DPT include Evidence-based Practice, Pharmacology, Differential Diagnosis, Imaging, Health Care Management, and Medical Spanish.

Content specific emphases are developed through additional courses. A pediatric emphasis is offered - click here for STAIRS information.

Other emphases include global health, orthopedics, geriatrics, wellness, research, and educational theory and practice. Post-professional (transitional) DPT students can create a curriculum plan that complements their educational goals by selecting 15 - 20 hours of online elective courses.
