Celebrating 50 Years

Working together to work wonders by educating tomorrow’s healers through groundbreaking research and excellent patient care.

Message from the Interim Dean

Dr. Vicki Freeman

Dear SHP Community,

Welcome to the celebration of our School of Health Professions' 50th Anniversary. As the Interim Dean, I am proud of SHP's accomplishments over the past five decades, and optimistic about our impact on the future of health care.

UTMB’s SHP was the first in its kind in the southwest and is now recognized as one of the best in the country. The credit belongs to our dedicated and accomplished faculty and staff, who have reached a high level of excellence that continues through our students and alumni. Faculty collaboration within and outside the university further strengthens our scholarship, educational programs, and service to the community.

It is a special privilege for me to have the opportunity to work with you all in the coming year and I applaud all of your past, current and future accomplishments.

I invite you to celebrate SHP's golden anniversary on October 20, 2018. My hope is that our SHP family continues to work wonders together and to ensure quality education for tomorrow’s healers, through groundbreaking research and excellent patient care.
