Amy Boyd, OTD, OTR is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). She earned her Master of Occupational Therapy from Loma Linda University in 2011 and her Post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy from UTMB in 2020.
Dr. Boyd's clinical background is rooted in neurological and cognitive rehabilitation for adults. Her expertise spans the full continuum of care, with extensive practice in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation, as well as experience in home health and outpatient settings. She is particularly passionate about serving older adults within the community and supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).This commitment to patient care directly informs her academic work. As the Interprofessional Education (IPE) Liaison for the Occupational Therapy program, she actively promotes a collaborative approach to healthcare, and she is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of practitioners. Outside of her professional roles, her favorite occupations are running and spending time at the beach with her husband and two sons.
