About Me

Misty Vaughan Hensch, BCLA, MS, PA (ASCP)cm is both an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the UTMB Department of Clinical Sciences, Pathologists’ Assistant Program and the Director of Clinical Education for the Pathologists’ Assistant Program. Ms. Vaughan Hensch received both a Bachelor of Clinical Laboratory Science and a Master of Science in Pathologists’ Assistant studies from UTMB School of Health Professions.

She is currently an instructor for both 1st and 2nd year students of the Pathologists’ Assistant Program both online and on-campus. Ms. Vaughan Hensch has had the privilege of teaching students in primary education, secondary education, medical residents, and graduate students for almost 20 years. Before transitioning into UTMB, she was a Pathologists’ Assistant for the federal government where she was able to educate medical students and residents in surgical pathology and autopsy every day.

Ms. Vaughan Hensch’s scholarly interests focus primarily on the quality education of future Pathologists’ Assistants both in their didactic education and in placing each student in quality clinical rotations.
