Sue Klappa PT, MPT, PhD is a professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences (PTRS) in the School of Health Professions (SHP) at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). She completed her PhD in Education, Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Minnesota with a focus on community engagement. Sue earned a Master of Physical Therapy degree from St. Catherine University.
Dr. Klappa’s research interests explore how community engagement influences professional identity among physical therapists and participation in life roles for all. Through her work, Dr. Klappa believes humanities are crucial to understanding the human condition & allow us to connect more deeply with others.
