About Me

Daneen Nastars, DHSc, RRT, RRT-ACCS, CTTS is an Associate Professor of Instruction and the Entry-Level MSRT Program Director in the Department of Respiratory Therapy in the School of Health Professions. She received a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care from Texas State University, a Master of Science in Clinical Practice Management from Texas Tech University and a Doctor of Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Prior to teaching at UTMB, Dr. Nastars primarily worked as a Respiratory Therapist for ten years and as a Donation Clinical Specialist for an Organ Procurement Organization.

Research

Research Interest

  • Interprofessional activities and simulation. Daneen participates in many interprofessional activities each year using our students and simulation with the School of Medicine, School of Health Professions, nursing students and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. She has also participated in abstracts associated with critical thinking and decision making, simulation and Ethnicity and health care.
