Jodie M. Sandel, OTD, OTR is the Laredo Site Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the School of Health Professions at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). She received her Master of Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman's University Denton Campus, and her Doctor of Occupational Therapy Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
Dr. Sandel has clinical experience providing individualized and evidence based occupational therapy in a variety of settings to include the inpatient, outpatient, home, community, and school settings. She has clinical experience providing occupational therapy services in rehabilitation, mental health, and children and youth.
Dr. Sandel holds a certification in Essentials in Hybrid Learning and Teaching, Effective Skills in Hybrid Learning and Teaching, and Teaching Practicum in Hybrid Learning and Teaching. Dr. Sandel's scholarly interests include Autism Spectrum and Sensory Processing disorders, Cognitive Impairments, and Community Programming. Her research includes a poster on Incorporating digital technologies in the classroom.
