Biography

Laura M. Oppermann, DPT, PT is an Assistant Professor of Instruction and the Director of Clinical Education for the DPT Residential Program in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences (PTRS) in the School of Health Professions (SHP) at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from Regis University, a Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Texas Woman's University.

While working as a clinician at Houston Methodist Hospital, she developed an interest in early mobility in acute care, management of patients with cerebrovascular accident and movement disorders.

Dr. Oppermann is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Texas Physical Therapy Association (TPTA) and Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (NDTA).
