ASG VIII Roles and Responsibilities

Business Operations Team

Our ASG VII team is a group of dedicated professionals committed to excellence, growth, and contributing to both the School of Health Professions and the School of Nursing. With a shared vision and strong leadership, including Rachelle Mainard, Administrator, and Marissa McQuitty, Director of Business Operations, we strive to make a positive impact/ Focused on innovation and efficiency, we provide consultation, resources, and issue resolution to support department position and employee management. Please meet our unique and innovative teams, including the administrative staff and the finance team, who provides the services listed below.

SHP/SON Contact: ASG VII Position Management asg7posmgt@utmb.edu for support and guidance on the following services.

  • Position requests
  • Employee status changes
  • Kronos timekeeping and leave resources and contacts
  • Data and analysis for leadership position planing and decision support
  • other related position administration topics and needs
  • Facilitate Academic Enterprise (AE) and UTMB directives regarding employee administration to support department compliance and completion according to AE and UTMB policies and due dates
  • Performance evaluation annual process
  • Staff and faculty salary administration (merit, faculty incentives) annual process
  • Annual required training compliance

ASG Finance Team

Our ASG finance team, led by Jennifer Potrykus, oversees financial data and decision support analysis for the Schools of Nursing (SON) and Health Professions (SHP). Jennifer's team includes Carolyn Bautista-Mueller, Nathan Nevelow, and Jerry Limones. 

Along with oversight, training and support for the entire finance team, Jennifer provides the following assistance to SON and SHP for non-research related activities:

  • Budget preparation and entry
  • Ad hoc financial data & reporting
  • Tuition & fees proposals, costs of programs, etc.
  • Proformas – decision support

Carolyn for SON and Nathan for SHP, provide the following non-research related assistance:

  • Budget preparation and entry
  • Ad hoc financial data & reporting
  • Variance analysis
  • Student enrollment analysis
  • POWER and Peoplesoft approval request
  • Department Checklist
  • Endowment compliance
  • Ad hoc financial presentations
  • P/R verification reports
  • Funding management

Jerry provides the following non-research related assistance for both SON and SHP:

  • Class reconciliations and training
  • Ad hoc financial data & reporting
  • Expense & revenue transfer request
  • Peoplesoft FMS inquiry
  • CFS set up and maintenance
  • Signature authority set up and maintenance
  • Faculty and student awards
  • SON Honor’s Program scholarships
