Dr. Patricia Fingerhut named 2020 Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award Recipient

The University of Texas System Board of Regents named Dr. Patricia Fingerhut as a 2020 Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award recipient.

This prestigious award is presented by The University of Texas System Board of Regents to recognize extraordinary classroom performance and innovation. The honor reflects the great respect that students, peers and president have for a professor's teaching abilities and contributions.

Dr. Fingerhut was honored with the prestigious award in the form of a medallion and certificate along with mention on the UT System web site and statewide media. She joins a cohort of 27 award recipients, including 16 from the eight UT academic institutions and 11 from the six health institutions.

Nominees undergo a series of rigorous evaluations by students, peer faculty and external reviewers. The review panels consider a range of activities and criteria in their evaluations of a candidate's teaching performance, including classroom expertise, curricula quality, innovative course development and student learning outcomes

Dr. Fingerhut is the Robert K. Bing Distinguished Professor Associate Professor and Chair in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the UTMB School of Health Professions.

Dr. Fingerhut is a member of the following organizations; UTMB Academy of Master Teacher, Alpha Eta Honor Society, Texas Occupational Therapy Association, America Occupational Therapy Association, and Phi Theta Epsilon Honor Society, NU chapter.
