With our deepest appreciation we are announcing that Vicki Freeman, PhD, MASCP, MLS (ASCP)cm SCcm, FAACC has stepped down as Chair of the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Department effective August 31, 2020. Dr. Freeman will continue over the next two years,
so we are not yet ready to say good bye. Dr. Freeman will remain a faculty member in the department and continue as Associate Dean for Faculty Development in the School of Health Professions.
I am pleased to announce, that Eddie Salazar, PhD has been appointed interim chair of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences as of September 1st.
Dr. Salazar is currently Program Director of the Doctorate in Clinical Laboratory Science and Associate Professor in the Department.
Dr. Salazar earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Tech University and Master of Science degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical
Laboratory Sciences from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
