Biography

LeeAnn Walker, MEd, MT(ASCP) SBB is an Associate Professor of Instruction and the Specialist in Blood Bank (SBB) Program Director in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences in the School of Health Professions (SHP) at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB).

Ms. Walker received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Texas A&M University, a Bachelor of Science in Medical Terminology from the University of Texas School of Allied Health Sciences, and a Master of Education in Allied Health Education & Administration from the University of Houston. She also is a UTMB Specialist in Blood Banking program.

Ms. Walker supervised a hospital transfusion service, taught blood bank students at all levels, managed Immunohematology Reference Laboratories and directed Blood Bank reagent manufacturing operations. She is also active in regional and national professional organizations.
